The realization of twinned rotor plates assembling into the motor was issued on 14 June 2005. The design specification was 90 kW, 720 rpm. Its 16 kW operation has been proved to operate. Coolant circulation was simplified and ready to put a compact cryo-cooler to give us a use-friendly operation in addition to the realization of lighter system.
This is a viewgraph issued in last December 2004.The machine was an axial-gap type motor. The motor design specification is 15 kW, 720 rpm.
Rotor assembly is 500 mm in diameter, 300 mm long. The motor design issues that more than 30 % reduction of machine volume can be expected with a pole field around 2 T. The Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk provides 3 T at 77 K under field cool magnetization. Therefore, the technique to magnetize the HTS pole bulk with a pulsed-field magnetization is essential to challenge for innovative motor performance.
